David Blackwell, in video

I've written several posts on the life and work on David Blackwell, who passed away this summer. As mentioned, I'm quite disappointed to have never met him since he had been an emeritus professor at UC Berkeley throughout my time at the school. So I was happy to find, on YouTube, a series of clips from an interview with Blackwell that was uploaded by the National Visionary Leadership Project 7 months ago. Most of the clips have been watched... fewer than 100 times (!), a shockingly low number for such a prominent figure.

Here are a few of the clips below, and more can be found on the site above. It's quite moving to see Blackwell get emotional about, among other things, the racial factors involved in his delayed appointment at Berkeley.
